At the restaurant - a role play for ordering food (5. C)

When teaching English, a fantastic way to get the students speaking and practicing English is to use role plays.

During the English conversation lessons, the students were divided into groups, then created their own restaurant menu by writing a restaurant name, list of starters, main courses, desserts and drinks along with their prices. Not only did they come up with their own menu, but also created a dialogue that takes on the role of a waiter/waitress, customers, chefs and a manager.

The purpose of this activity is to give students the skills to order food in a restaurant. This lesson follows a simple format of an introduction and discussion, group brainstorming and followed by a role-play activity.

At the end of the play, the students didn't only have fun, but they also injected skills and creativity along with their groupmates.
