Signs of Spring – An Outdoor Exploration (4.C)
Today, the class went outside for a walk around the school, breath some fresh air, and look for signs of spring.
Before heading outside to see what they can find, students work together in pairs to identify the objects on their worksheet. They tick the boxes corresponding to the weather before looking for the plants and animals on their worksheet. When they see an item, they tick the box.
Another component of the activity is encouraging their classmates to name the plants and animals they see. As a result of this, they enhance their abilities for speaking, collaboration and observation.
Finally, we talked, debated, looked into things, and had a good time. And no students, plants, or animals were harmed.
