Community Helpers and People's Jobs (3.C)
This theme unit examines community helpers and the work they do. Students gain knowledge about the people and jobs that make up their community.
In the conversation lesson, the children discussed about what they wanted to be when they grew up, their classmates' dream jobs, and their parents' jobs - some of which our students aspired to be in the future.
Finally, children completed crafts and other learning activities in groups. Characters in the sets include a doctor, nurse, scientist, engineer, or architect, a police officer, a firefighter, a mail carrier, a farmer, a cook, a teacher, a dancer, and a musician.
The tasks were engaging and helped them acquire new vocabulary.
